At Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, our new pastor Msgr. Steven Brovey, has established an Events Committee whose purpose is to schedule recurring monthly events to promote, and improve, the social life of the Parish. One of those SEAS sponsored events is a Pancake Breakfast held between Sunday Masses on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Msgr. Brovey asked the Knights of Columbus Council 8182 to work this Pancake Breakfast primarily to cook and serve the pancakes and support the Events Committee volunteers. The attending Parishioners bring side dishes to share such as a breakfast casseroles, bacon, sausage, fruit. juice, muffins and other breakfast foods and desserts.
The recent 02/11/24 Pancake Breakfast was a celebration, as a Parish Community, before the Lenten fast begins. Not only was there a Pancake Breakfast but there was the traditional Mardi Gras Pancake race for children who brought their sturdy spatulas and other activities for the many Parishioners who attended. Everyone had a great time and were well fed and the attendance at these monthly events continues to increase supporting the vision of Msgr. Steven Brovey.
The Knights of Columbus Council 8182 look at these SEAS sponsored events as an opportunity to openly show our support for our Pastor Msgr. Steven Brovey and to be of service to our SEAS Parishioners. We Knights are blessed to see all the smiling happy faces of the Parishioners as they enjoy a good Pancake Breakfast with a hot cup of coffee and chat with other Parishioners that they would not have had the opportunity to do except for these Pancake Breakfasts.
