Essay Contest Due Date

• September: Councils notify schools and students. Order materials as soon as possible.

• This year’s topic is timely: What are the two most important virtues for an elected leader to possess, and why? How can you determine if the leader has these virtues?

• October/November: Councils judge essay submissions and submit it to DD no later than Nov. 15th.

• November: DD reviews and sends selections to arrive at State by Dec. 1st.

• December: State decision made by Monday Dec.16th and immediately mailed to Supreme.

• Essays due to the Supreme Council for international judging by January 31. Winners should be recognized at the jurisdiction convention or another jurisdiction event.

• March: International Essay Contest winners announced by the Supreme Council office.
